Kramer Alberti Adds Jim Barabas as Partner
Kramer Alberti Lim & Tonkovich LLP (Kramer Alberti), a nationally recognized IP litigation firm, today announced that James Barabas joined the firm as a partner. The addition of Barabas positions Kramer Alberti for continued growth in the IP litigation segment and expands the firm’s capabilities handling matters in the district courts and before the International Trade Commission. Russell Tonkovich, Kramer Alberti partner, made the announcement.
“Jim has a very strong reputation and is well known for being among the most experienced and successful patent litigators in the country. He joins Kramer Alberti further expanding the firm’s east coast presence and our collective expertise in patent litigation,” said Tonkovich.
“I’ve known of Kramer Alberti’s reputation and the firm’s remarkable successes in significant patent litigation throughout the country,” added Barabas. “Russ and I worked together as patent litigators some years ago and I know of his and Kramer Alberti’s commitment to excellence. It’s an honor to partner with this elite group of attorneys as the firm continues to expand and handle some of the most challenging patent cases in the country.”
Kramer Alberti handles patent cases in courts throughout the country as well as in the ITC and the PTAB. Jim Barabas joins Kramer Alberti a few months after Robert Mattson joined as a partner in December 2021 as part of the firm’s strategic expansion.
Barabas holds an undergraduate technical degree from Dartmouth College and earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is admitted to practice law in the courts in New York and New Jersey as well as in the U.S. Patent Office. He previously practiced at Latham Watkins LLP, working on significant, nationally followed patent litigations, and more recently at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf LLP.
